EasyJet tactics
I was going to write a cunning hint to those booking multiple tickets on easyJet, but I just had a conversation with my dad and realised that I still wasted £40 on our booking because I wasn’t quite cunning enough!
I had been checking out the prices for my trip using 2 adults as the guidline. When I came to book for 4 adults I noticed the price of one of the flights had gone up by £20 per person. “Mmmm†me thinks. I wonder if they are charging me the more expensive price for all 4 of the seats even though I could book 2 of them for the cheaper price. My mate reckoned that easyJet would have the system rigged so that they know that they need to make a certaion amount of money on the flight and the computer would always win!
Anyway I tried it with 3 tickets and it still came up expensive – so I booked the first 2 tickets at the cheaper price and got the 2nd two at the more expensive price – thus saving us £40 over booking all 4 at once.
My dad suggested that what I should have done was to have two browser windows open both booking 2 tickets at the (quoted) cheaper price and progressed those bookings in paralell. That would have saved us another £40.
Oh well – that’s one to remember for next time.
